Rested.

Sometimes you just need to rest. To let everything you’re doing - or supposed to be doing, or already committed to, or even considering doing - fall away and allow your body to just sit. Not in an inactive and bump-on-a-log way, but in an appreciative and happy way.

For some reason I feel the need to share the fact that I spent my Saturday and Sunday completely immobile on my bed. I also want to let you know that I was still a productive and enthusiastic person while resting. It’s OK to drop your commitments every once in a while. It’s not a bad thing to take a mental health day or weekend if you know it will result in more productivity and energy once it’s over.

I urge you. Take a small amount of time off. Play hookie. Enjoy doing nothing and use that time to heal your over-worked/-tired/-drained body. Personally I had a horrible and draining past week and knew that no matter what, my weekend would be centric around one person: me. And it was splendid.
